12×2, Girl’s Day Out

28 Aug

It was not always that we managed to put up for a hang out together, where I can count how many times we were out in complete numbers in less than one hand! Hence, it was what makes it so meaningful to us (perhaps, me particularly) :-) .

Yes, a lunch date with my dearies! We did Wagamama, this is our new policy with effect with my birthday this time around. No longer pressie giving, like what we did all this while but this time we ‘invested’ for quality time instead :) Moreover, this will be the last year we can bound and bump into each other almost daily. Soon, in the near future, it may take up some effort for the all of us to just to meet up with each other. By that time, it will be my turn to fly over to the hornbill state. It was rather funny when I recalled the fact that all of them were Sarawakians.

Back to the food, I had my Cheesy Ham Furai Set, which consists of ham roll with mozzarella cheese (as featured in the photo), which I loved very much. Kuo, Joyce and Shu Fen had their Black Pepper Chicken Set, Black Pepper Dory Set and Spicy Maguro Teriyaki Set, respectively (sorry, no credits for picture)  alongwith some side menus and desserts.

Thereafter, we headed for SALT. I must say that SALT is an awesome movie – a little confusing at first but after getting the hang of it, the excitement and suspense was sustained right till the end and went shopping until we drop and broke =). Kuo was extremely happy when she saw ear rings were sold so cheaply where you can get up to 6 or 7 pairs for 10MR. Not forgetting, the green tea mooncake she had been drolling for quite sometime and a sling bag from EX =). It was where I fell in love with a black checkered SLR bag which was sold in a very decent price. But, after that, I hardly believe my ears (or eye) and my jaws were dropping when Red Mafia told me that he managed a 50% discount for the bag, which was so happen that he has the bag from the similar range. Wah, he was too lucky I guess! Hence, I decided to wait too. Hehehe.

As for Shu Fen, she managed to get a very pretty and sweet blouse from Nichi, before we dropped (literally). Hehe. As for both Joyce and myself, I don’t remember of getting any goods apart from foods.

It takes 2 people to grow a friendship, 3 to grow good friends, 4 to build a love ship between goodfriends. Dearies, thanks for the scrumptious lunch. I love all of you guys dearly ;-)

12×2, 13th Aug 2010

26 Aug

A very BIG thank you(s) to all of you for the sweet wishes and gifts, I may not be able to name every one of you here. But, incase you manage to bump into this blog of mine, I am rightfully proud to say I am glad and couldn’t thank HIM enough for granting me all of you. I am more than blessed than I deserved to be. =)

I may not be a good daughter, a good sister, ‘tsuma’, may not a good friend, may not be a friend in need, but I am trying to be one. Thank you so much, I am truly blissful by having all of you by my side; and thank you for accepting me for who I am with open arms.  I wanted to keep you guys close to my heart for a lifetime contract and surely, I will treasure our friendship forever. =)

My Two-Minutes Fame

25 Aug

Initially, I planned to throw myself to the bed early (2345hr) and stop my extremely bad habit to work through midnights ever since I had bad visibly dark circles around my eyes. Since I am still awake at this moment, I planned to jot down my two-minutes fame here before I forget these two worth remembering incidents. I went down to the café after napping for a whopping 3 hours in the afternoon today. It gave myself a shock as well, perhaps due to many nights of sleep shortage few days back :) . It was almost fast-breaking hour, hence the café was too crowded and I hardly squeeze myself into the crowd. In seconds, I gave up and went back to my room. I decided to cook my own meal instead, green peas and a bowl of fresh tomato with egg, mushroom and seaweed. Little did I expect my first attempt in cooking the peas turned out quite appealing. Hence, I sent over a mms to the boss. He then complimented that they looked good. That means, it looked edible! Hehe. I am only known to be good in cooking porridge, making dessert and soup, which doesn’t require any skills although he had not tried any of my masterpieces yet except for some puddings.  *wink*

The second one was work related. I have a perfectionist, very efficient leader whom I regard ‘tai-ko’ aka Big Brother (only known to certain friends) here :) . Normally, I used to submit my part about two days earlier than the submission date, this time is exceptional. Worse, I have not poured down a single word and I did not have any reference books with me. Hence, I burned the midnight oil and thank goodness the Broadband was being kind to me, despite several times where I got disconnected, yet, it doesn’t last long. Finally, I came out with 3 pages full for the Literature Review and in seconds, I sent over the e-mail to him. It was my first time running over an errand in one night. I was so worried with the outcome but was mentally prepared for the worst critics I may receive. The next morning, I was a bit worried but was prepared when I received a reply mail from him concerning the task. ‘Good Job, XXX. Thanks a lot’ was what I saw. I opened the mail once again, just in case I was still in my dreamland. I assured myself with what I saw and patted my own shoulder after that. Lol and please don’t vomit :) *coughs & grin*

Adios!

The Silliest Morning

16 Aug

The hand phone’s alarm rang at 0730hr as scheduled..

She grabbed her phone to postpone her alarm to ten minutes later..

Before the second alarm started to rang, Kelv called up like every other morning…

‘Good morning. You slept well? What’s for breakfast today?’ he asked…

She then proudly replied ‘I cooked a pot of porridge’ with a grin up to her nose..

After about 20 minutes of morning conversation, she dragged herself up from her bed…

By that time, the analog clock mounted on the wall shows 0815hr…

Realizing that her stomach is grumbling for some food…

She went out to get her mitten before she can lift up the lid of her slow cooker…

Guess what she has found? Voila! The food wasn’t cook! =(

So silly of her forgetting to switch on the main power of the extension cord. So silly of her despite so many times of cooking!..

Forget about the pot of porridge, she dashes to the bathroom for a good shower instead and preparing herself for instant mee instead…

That was my silliest morning ever!

Good day, everyone. :)

Red Maniac

15 Aug

RED, as bold as it sounds, is my all time favorite color. This bloody color, which is often accompanied with black is always my first choice when options are available. You can see that both my hand phones are red and black, my Tupperware containers in my hostel room are all capped with red covers, my backpacks; be it a travel or my laptop backpack, up to many tiny details including my big bottle of Bovril, rice cooker etc. Perhaps that is why you can call me a tigress! *groar* ;P

Here are some of my gifts/souvenirs in red recently, all by coincidences. It was nice when you received tiny things ‘occasion-less’ apart from your birthdays or anniversaries. *grin*

Let’s start with this Paul wannabe, courtesy of CIMB click. I got the smaller one the other day when I registered for CIMB click, and was a little bit disappointed as they no longer offer the flush octopus. Instead, this time they offered a tiny PVC keychain with LED (unfortunately mine was not working). The day after, Joyce was clearing and sorting out her stuff and give over me her flush octopus. Wah, I was so thrilled and thereafter I offered her my baby Paul instead (hardly seen in the picture above), which she said she will claim for a new one with working LED soon from CIMB. That is what we called customer’s right, right?. Hehe ;P

Another give over from Joyce was refrigerator magnet souvenir from Perlis, something she found from her drawer, her ‘bucket of treasure’ I called it. Hehe. If you are wondering, the ‘old-school 555 notebook’ was not a give-away. It flew over the South China Sea, or I can regard it as an award too. Lol. In case you are wondering again, 555 notebook was once upon a time very famous stationary, where my parents used to own themselves to keep note or reminder. Little did I expect to see this again, but they have been given a new face lift, which are way nicer but in the similar size. On the other hand, I am looking forward to hunt for the ‘old-school’ version of it. How come I was awarded this, there was a story behind the scene. Here go my thanks to the Red Mafia (you know who you are!) =P

While, the Mickey Mouse was a key-chain from Kelv, after his vacation trip to Hong Kong Disneyland with his PSP buddies. It was a so-called consolation for me for being left behind. Lol. Serves me right, I am still tied up with my bachelor degree pursuance. Hehehe.

Little Mischievous

7 Aug

Here’s a little resolution of mine to post up a favorite picture or two of the week over here. Be it a ‘just photo’ or with a sentence or two as caption. This time, I am sharing this little mischievous with you which I came across with while queuing at the cafe for the uni’s shuttle bus :D

Wishing all of you a blissful weekend =)

Being the Minister of Domestic Affair of the family

1 Aug

I can’t help my eyelid from falling down, same goes for my sister. It was an ordeal refraining ourselves from sleeping at the ungodly hour 0200am. My sisters went for a sound system checking at Promenade Hotel and audition for the coming wedding banquet on behalf her Prof’s son. They were a bunch of them busy for the preparation; it was part of their assignment to come out with orchestral performances.

We were all out to drop her until we pick her after the dismissal of her practice. It was almost midnight the moment we touched home. There, she asked me to do her a favor to wrap up the gift which shejoint ventured with her fellow friends. I am known as ever-willing minister of domestic affairs of the family. Whenever there is something to wrap, regardless what kind of occasions, they will turn to me :) :) Back then, my sister and mom even requested me to give her a haircut. Don’t get me wrong, they are never my specimen piece for my experiments. I really got plenty of compliments from them after my layered hair back then. If you ask me how I did that, I don’t know as the inner courage in me no longer existed after my secondary school.:) That is all about a haircut, enough for me to claim my 2 minutes of fame over here. *grin *

Back to the gift wrapping, my sister is quite a good financial minister. She managed barely two pieces of wrapping paper, just enough for a plain wrapping :P . Initially, I thought I may be able to make a gift bag, but that wasn’t sufficient. Hence, I threw that idea and eventually resorted to wrap the box, separately for the bottom and the cover. No ribbon, no cards, no ornaments, I was cracking my head to wrap the gift, at least a presentable one if we cannot make it a pleasant one. :)

Quickly wrap up the box, I flipped open the album and put down some hand written greetings. So classical. Done with that, but the entire box was still so bare also plain. Then, I asked her to try her luck to ransack her drawer as I always believe that anything applicable or practical is a ‘gem’ when it comes to last hour. She searched up and down, back and forth around the house. Voila! We found a ‘gem’. There was a brand new checkered red/white ribbon.

At once, we opened up the plastic cover and start measuring. We were a bit taken aback when the ribbon was not long enough. No more options for us, it’s only between you take it, or leave it. In fact, I was trying to tie the ribbon around the 4 edges, like how we usually tie boxes or parcels. I tried figuring out what else I can make out of it, eventually I ended up tying just 2 opposite edges horizontally.

It just don’t go our way as it can slip down too easily. We utilized our double sided tap thereafter. It doesn’t look professional that way, but we have tried to make up our best.

Another problem arisen. The knot of the ribbon really looked odd and awkward and the ribbon does not bloom as I expected it to be. Perhaps it was a canvas-like ribbon, hence it tended to be heavier than those nylon one. All my weird and wild thoughts pouring out. I felt like doing something related to stitching, I even thought of doing some embroidery. Another idea thrown out of the window. The moment I pulled out my chest drawer, I saw few packets of beads and colorful buttons. There goes my wild thought. I cut a portion of the cardboard and decorated it with 2 mini buttons and drop some writing on it. That was all about our ungodly hour ordeal :)
